I worked with Lux on a 2-floor remodel for our Houston client ERM. JLL was selected to manage the entire project, as well as selecting the architect, engineering and consulting teams. LUX Art consulting firm competed for and won the art contract which included monitoring the entire process – from art selection and creation, through logistics and project close out. I found them to be efficient in their processes, they worked well with the architect and other team members and were good at keeping me apprised and up to date on their steps throughout the project. LUX Art Consulting was a tremendous asset in making our new 329-unit Lakeside Graduate Housing complex a welcoming and community-oriented complex. Hired as a subcontractor to the project by the developer/operator American Campus Communities, LUX Art Consulting, and Sasha specifically advised me and the artwork committee composed of University staff and graduate students in the solicitation and selection process for “artwork” created by members of the Princeton University community. Sasha created the website to which she added all the requirements for submittal as well as the contract and agreement statement. Sasha produced for the selection committee several PowerPoint presentations as decisions were made on which images to use and placement. The committees decided that the images should reflect the academic themes of the Graduate School and residential life on campus. Sasha developed strong relationships with the student contributors and faculty members who also donated work. The work was placed in the 7,000 square foot community area and in locations throughout the complex, such as hallways, foyers, and elevator lobbies. The placement of student-led artwork has been a great hit at the complex.
