This sculpture and pathway are a memorial to the history of research for cures in the fields of virology, oncology and inflammation. Inspired by the essence of medicine, a narrative was shaped that transfers the complexities of social and political context surrounding the pharmaceutical business. Inspiration was also found in research, and how with understanding we can cure the sickness and pain of others. The resulting pathway and monument serve as a timeline, paying tribute to life-giving therapeutics. The monumental element is an asymmetric interpretation of an awareness ribbon. It is interactive and LED lit to change color, providing a place to sit and contemplate awareness months throughout the year.
